There are many options for health insurance out there from Obamacare, to health ministries plans to Short term coverage. Each customers needs, price point and health conditions are different. We take the time to go through all of your options to make sure you know what to expect. Not only is Health Insurance Made Easy our slogan it is a goal we strive for. We want the Health Insurance process to be as easy and pain less as possible.
The Affordable Care Act was enacted in March 2010 and was designed to expand health insurance affordability for those with income within 100% to 400% level of poverty. It also allowed for those Americans with pre-existing conditions to get coverage without fear of their condition not being covered or discrimination against attaining coverage.
Every year there is an open enrollment to join the Affordable Care Act Marketplace from November 1st to December 15th. Outside of this open enrollment period there are a series of Special Enrollment scenarios which can qualify someone for enrollment outside of open enrollment.
Listed below is just some of the scenarios in which you could qualify for a special enrollment period.
Health Ministries plans are a good alternative to Obamacare when you do not qualify for a subsidy and do not have a pre-existing condition. These are faith based plans which means they are not called insurance plans as they are non-profit organizations.
United Health One has a unique plan in the market that lasts 3 consecutive terms. You have the option between a copay plan or a max plan where you pay 100% of the cost until you reach your chosen deductible.
Since we are Independent Agents, BWIA, LLC does not work for just one company. We represent many " A " Rated Carriers who offer only plans that are both rich in coverage and cost effective. We currently offer plans through Humana, United Health One, Cigna and National General.
Individual Supplemental plans are an effective way to reduce your medical costs in case of an Accident, Critical Illness, Cancer or Hospitalization.
A time outside the yearly Open Enrollment Period when you can sign up for health insurance. You qualify for a Special Enrollment Period if you’ve had certain life events, including losing health coverage, moving, getting married, having a baby, or adopting a child.
Depending on your Special Enrollment Period type, you may have 60 days before or 60 days following the event to enroll in a plan. If you miss your Special Enrollment Period window, you may have to wait until the next Open Enrollment Period to apply.
There are 4 basic types of qualifying life events, that enable a special enrollment period.
